Recovery Month is an international initiative each September. One of its aims is to promote awareness and understanding around addiction and recovery. Additionally, Recovery Month (sometimes referred to as ‘International Recovery Month’) seeks to champion and celebrate individuals from all walks of life who have managed to carry out a successful recovery. Find Out MoreConor came to the Rutland Centre after spending his teens and early twenties struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. Now in Recovery, this is Conor's story which he has shared in the hopes of encouraging any young person struggling with addiction to seek help.
Gemma completed treatment for addiction as a young woman. Ten years on she has decided to tell her story in the hope that it will show others that Recovery is possible and to give them the courage to ask for help.
David came to the Rutland Centre after struggling with alcohol addiction through his teens and early twenties. David wants other young people to know that life only starts in Recovery and he hopes that hearing his story will give a positive message to others who may feel that there is no life beyond addiction.
