If you are concerned about someone you love then our family programme may be able to help. Whether the person is a partner/wife/husband/father/mother/daughter/son/friend, the most important thing is to get the right information and support, and to mobilize the family together in forming an intervention plan. Rutland Centre has vast experience in dealing with these issues.
One of the key features of addiction is that individuals often deny that there is any problem. You may also find that you, your family, friends, colleagues may feel under pressure to become involved in this denial, perhaps making excuses for, covering up for, and keeping secret the problems that arise.
Rutland Centre has years of experience in dealing with and supporting families who are facing such difficulties. We can help in a variety of ways. We offer family mobilization sessions which can be facilitated in the home or at Rutland Centre. During these sessions the family are supported to view the addiction and the ways in which it is being maintained within the family, and to explore ways of taking a step towards addressing the problem. We can also offer 1:1 support and information for family members, and family information workshops.
An individual meeting with family members can be arranged to discuss the problem in detail — the way they see the problem, how it affects them, what they are prepared to do, and may need to do in order to intervene. Each person is encouraged to prepare for the intervention by deciding on key aspects of their view of the problem and how it affects them. The meeting is facilitated by an experienced & Accredited Addiction Counsellor.
