Family Involvement in the Programme

We believe that addiction affects the entire family and we therefore encourage friends, family, and ‘concerned persons’ or your ‘significant other’ to be part of the recovery process.

Our Programme at Rutland Centre is designed so that families and/or concerned persons can participate one day each week. We place important emphasis on the re-building of relationships, resolving conflict and improving communication between family members. Individual family meetings can be arranged with the Counselling Team.

Family Day (or Concerned Persons Day) is usually a Tuesday and begins at 10.15am with a preparatory discussion. In the afternoon family members can attend a lecture followed by a Counsellor led support group.

There is also a weekly group for family/concerned persons of clients who have completed treatment (Tuesday and Thursday evening). As an added support, we also provide one day workshops for concerned persons approximately every six weeks (Sat from 10am – 4pm).
