Rutland Centre has a thriving Depratment of Psychology comprised of Doctoral Clinical Psychologists in training and 5 Assistant Psychologists who complete psychological assessments, carry out outcome evaluation research, and provide 1:1 interventions under supervision of the clinical director. Our Assistant Psychology Team:
Lasairiona McGuinness: Lasairiona holds a BSc in Psychology from Queens University Belfast, and an MSc in Applied Psychology from University of Ulster. Her areas of interest include eating disorders, personality and psychosis. Lasairiona utilises mindfulness and an integrative approach to her therapeutic work.
Majella Maher: Majella holds a B.A in Psychology from American College Dublin and a Certificate in Acceptance and Change Therapy (ACT). Majella utilises a motivational approach to her work with clients and also draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness techniques. She has experience in the area of suicide intervention, eating disorder support groups, and OCD.
Natalia Bienkowsky: Natalia holds a Masters in Psychology from Silesian University, Poland. She also has training in Psychodrama from the Polish Institute of Psychodrama. She has a particular interest and experience in Eating Disorders and uses Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodrama in her work. Natalia has experience in neuropsychological and personality assessment.
Dermot McMahon: Dermot holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Ulster Colraine and a Masters in Applied Psychology from Trinity College Dublin. He uses a client centred model combined with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy principles in his work. He has experience in personality assessment and intervention.
Niamh Joyce: Niamh holds a BSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University London and is completing a Higher Diploma in Psychology at University College Dublin. She has training in Motivational Interviewing, Eating Disorders and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She has an interest in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and addiction.
